Minutes of last AGM
Mary Maxwell, Chairman, read out the minutes of the 2015 AGM, which were unanimously adopted.
Jonathan Cole, Treasurer, presented his report for the year ended 31 December 2015. Total membership of the Association, at 79, was close to approaching its recent past best. A surplus for the year of £1,715 had been added to reserves.
He reminded Tennis Members that unreturned fob deposits were forfeit to the Association, so he reminded them of the desirability of returning them at the end of the season.
Mary reported that the 2015 Summer Party had seen somewhat diminished attendance, but £195 had been donated to the Passage by way of raffle proceeds.The Grange had catered the event as usual, for which the Chairman recorded the Association’s thanks.
The Chairman announced that the 2016 party would be held on 7 July.
Mary reported that there were 38 tennis members last year. She thanked the Westminster School Bursar and Groundsman for their continued support.
Mary noted that this would be her last report, as Louisa Taylor has taken over as Tennis Secretary.
Mary reported that Louisa Taylor had been co-opted to the Committee. It was proposed that Nick Boulter would join the committee, and that Richard Harden become the new Chairman. All proposals were approved nem con.
This concluded the formal part of the meeting.
There were then short presentations by Acting Sergeant Tom Clements from Belgravia Police Station, Chris Tsikolis of Victoria BID and Chris Bedlow, Chair of the Thorney Island Society. Topics discussed and/or raised from the floor included rough sleeping and drugs, although it was a general theme of discussions that the actual incidence of crime affecting members of the Association was relatively low.
